Visit St. Andreas Monastery, the first person to be called for induction to priesthood by Jesus Christ, Aya Trias Basilica of the 6th century, two-kilometre sandy beach, (Golden Beach) untouched by the civilization and wild donkeys. Also this beach, situated on the territory of the national park, is one of the favourite places for spawning of loggerhead and green sea turtles. Lunch at fish restaurant and free time to swim at this unique Mediterranean sea.
Full Day Famagusta (Gazimağusa)
Our first stop Famagusta which is very important area of the island with its historical and cultural features.
First stop at Icon of St. Barnabas and Archeological Museum There is a rich icon collection, most of which remained from 18th century, in the church of St. Barnabas. The basalt millstone in the garden of the Monastery came from the residential area of Enkomi, other columns and stones came from Salamis. The rooms, in which the priests lived, transformed into an Archeological Museum by having been restored.
Later we will visit Salamis Ruins that the city was founded by Achaeans, whose tribes came from Anatolia and Greece and integrated in Cilicia during the emigrations started at the end of the Bronze Age.
After that tour will continue to St. Nicolas Cathedral which was built in Lusignan Dynasty period between 1298-1312, is one of the most beautifull Gothic buildings in the whole Mediterranean. Final stop of Famagusta, at Castle, Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, prison of Namik Kemal…
